I am a cornucopia of indecision, unable to settle on a single course or embrace anything full time. After a few years of the “graduate from college, get a job” lifestyle, I gave into the implus to drift along for a while, dabbling in whatever interests me. On paper I’m a graduate student, picking up a pair of master’s degrees, but the majority of my mental efforts are toward ideas unrelated to my educational meanderings.

Early on in college (round one) I got frustrated with the expectation that I needed to either pick a science field and work in it all my life, or pursue a liberal arts degree to improve my writing enough that I could get through law school. The little stuff never interested me as much as establishing a coherent worldview – I’ve always wanted to understand the world I’m living in, as opposed to just inhabiting. Hence the undergraduate degree in International Studies, which ended up leaving me surprisingly employable.

So this blog here is (potentially) going to be a collection of personal thoughts and rantings.  I’m also going to attempt to put some time into a more serious one, A Small Step Back, that’ll get a bit into some of the things I’m stumbling across trying to see a world from a slightly detached viewpoint.
